Welcome to Youth CDE!

Our mission involves preparing the youth of Central Maryland for emergency disasters through fun, hands-on presentations, service learning projects, and outreach. Helping the community to prepare for emergency disasters is a significant part of the American Red Cross mission. Every year, about 65 people die inside their homes as a result of a fire, and about 12 of these deaths are children under the age of 15.

Disasters can strike at any given moment. Youths and adults must prepare themselves when disasters happen. Youth CDE provides students, parents, and teachers with essential information on various disasters, preparation for disasters, and recovery from disasters.
