| LOCAL RED CROSS RAMPS UP FOR GUSTAV |
Baltimore area Red Cross volunteer recruitment is beginning in the event that Hurricane Gustav comes ashore in the Gulf States. Emergency services volunteers experienced in sheltering, feeding, health and mental health services are on stand-by and tomorrow two teams of local volunteers will be driving a pair of emergency response vehicles south to preposition for the storm. Once they arrive at an Alabama staging area, they will stock the vehicles with food, water, clean up and comfort kits.
All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to Red Cross of Central Maryland, P.O. Box 64096, Baltimore, MD, 21264-4096. | Dunkin Donuts Supports Local Red Cross |
HELP FOR DISASTER VICTIMS BREWING THANKS TO RED CROSS, DUNKIN’ DONUTS PARTNERSHIP
Dunkin’ Donuts presented a $6,100 donation to the American Red Cross today at the chains 8021 Liberty Road location in Baltimore. The money will help the Red Cross provide relief to Marylanders affected by regions average of three disasters a day, usually house and apartment fires.
“When community partners like Dunkin’ Donuts support our mission, it helps change the lives of local families in need,” said Red Cross spokesman Daniel Sanborn.
The Dunkin’ Donuts donation is from the sale of their two pound coffee gift packs. One dollar from the sale of each gift pack will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, to help local Red Cross volunteers provide food, clothing, shelter and emotional support to disaster victims. The Red Cross also provides an array of safety classes in the community, including CPR, first aid, baby sitter training and water safety. more... |

| Red Cross Volunteers Assisting 5 Families, Victims Of Early Morning Blaze |
(Baltimore)- Red Cross volunteers are currently assisting 5 families who were burned out of their Baltimore row homes early Wednesday morning. 11 adults and 9 children are receiving emergency assistance to answer their immediate needs including blankets, food, clothing and shelter.
